I bought this box from Big W for $15. Contained Brewiser stuff, a can of Pacific Draught (extra pale ale), an ultra brew, some hallertau hops. Used my new bench capper when bottling. Could be great, or it could be shocking.
Turned out to be quite drinkable. An easy drinking pale ale, only lightly bittered, but with some light hop flavour and aroma. A great beer for people not used to home brew, as it is quite comparable to commercial styles.
I thought I might try to keep a journal of my home brewing – so I can note any changes, and see if things are improving over time. I hope people don’t think I’m a total hophead or addicted or anything – I’d just like to keep records for my own edification.
A pretty exciting Australian Grand Prix was held today. Queanbeyan’s Mark Webber managed to hold on to 5th place, despite looking capable of more. The race was won by Giancarlo Fisichella of Italy, who was in a fast car (a Renault) and got very lucky with the weather yesterday. Michael Schumacher crashed into Nick Heidfeld through frustration, and perennial “almost? drivers Rubens Barrichello and Fernando Alonso drove excellent races to come in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
On a related note the telecast went well, and Dad should be back from Melbourne in the next couple of days.
