I’ve written an article on my experiences with Digital TV on my PC.
A few of our guys from church have their own blogs, and seem keen on textpattern. I thought about enabling the textile markup language on this site, but the default on wordpress is php-markdown, and if anything it seems better to me.
Find out more here if you want to use this nifty language, rather than those ever so cumbersome html tags.
Textile and Php-Markdown seem very similar – I guess it’s what you get used to.
Similar with Textpattern vs WordPress. I started using TXP first, and find it very powerful. I have loaded WordPress, seems powerful, just different.
I originally installed wordpress so I could see what a real php/mysql application looked like, as opposed to my “from scratch” pages. I might have seen a recommendation in linuxformat magazine, and tried it from there.
I installed mambo and coppermine for similar reasons.
